English Language Requirements

International students need to provide proof of English proficiency. Accepted test scores include:

  • TOEFL iBT: Minimum score of 77
  • IELTS: Minimum overall band score of 6.0
  • Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 120
  • PTE: Minimum score of 51

Students who do not meet the English language requirement can join UAB’s English Language Institute (ELI) to improve their skills before beginning their academic program.
