Trinity College Dublin, officially titled The College of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Queen Elizabeth near Dublin, is the sole constituent college of the University of Dublin, Ireland.


Application Deadline :


Applications are accepted from October each year for entry September the following year. The deadline for receipt of Non-EU Undergraduate Applications is June 30th. February 1st is Priority Deadline* to receive a decision by April 1st. Students are advised to accept offer by May 1st.

Undergraduate Programs:

1. English Language Proficiency Tests:

  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System): Minimum overall score of 6.5, with no individual component lower than 6.0.
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): Minimum score of 90, with no section below 21.
  • Cambridge English Advanced (CAE): Minimum score of 176 overall, with no component lower than 169.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE): Minimum score of 63, with no component lower than 59.

2. Alternative Qualifications:

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) English A or B: A grade of 4 or higher.
  • A-Level English: A grade of C or higher.

3. English Language Course:

  • Trinity College Dublin also offers English language preparation courses for students who do not meet the language requirements. Successful completion of these courses can sometimes fulfill the English language proficiency requirement.

Postgraduate Programs:

1. English Language Proficiency Tests:

  • IELTS: Minimum overall score of 6.5 to 7.0, depending on the program, with no individual component lower than 6.0.
  • TOEFL: Minimum score of 90 to 100, depending on the program, with no section below 21.
  • Cambridge English Advanced (CAE): Minimum score of 176 to 185, depending on the program, with no component lower than 169.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE): Minimum score of 63 to 70, depending on the program, with no component lower than 59.

2. Alternative Qualifications:

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) English A: A grade of 4 or higher.
  • A-Level English: A grade of C or higher.

3. English Language Course:

  • Similar to undergraduate programs, Trinity College Dublin offers English language preparation courses that may help students meet the English language requirements for postgraduate studies.
